Edinburgh is the capital city
of Scotland.
Located in Lothian, it is the second most populated city in Scotland, with
nearly 500,000 residents.
Edinburgh boasts a variety of
historic buildings. Including; Edinburgh castle,
Holyrood Palace, The Church of St Giles,
Greyfrier and the Canongate. Edinburgh also has
many museums and libraries including the National Museum of Scotland, the
National Library of Scotland, National War Museum of Scotland, the Museum of Edinburgh

also known for its large population of students, and is home to three major
universities, the most famous being the University of Edinburgh.
Every
summer there are a number of festivals in the city including the Edinburgh
Festival Fringe, the Edinburgh International Festival, the Edinburgh Military
Tattoo and the Edinburgh International Book Festival.

years in the city before reaching the throne in 1567. Others include, Alexander

world famous author and creator of Harry Potter J.K. Rowling.
