Exeter is located in Devon
on the River Exe, 37 miles from Plymouth and 70
miles southwest of Bristol.
The population of Exeter
is approximately 120,000 people. It is the county town and home to Devon County
Council.
Exeter has a Cathedral,
which was damaged in the Blitz bombing during the Second World War in which 161
people in Eeter were killed. The cathedral survived and was repaired. Luckily
the damage was not too extensive and the cathedral boasts its original uninterrupted vaulted ceiling, the longest in England. Another
landmark in Exeter
is the Guildhall, which is more than 800 years old. Built in 1160, it is England’s most
historical municipal building.
The
MET office moved to Exeter
in 2004 and in one of the major employers in the town.

residents from Exeter include Chris Martin, lead
singer of Coldplay, who grew up in Exeter and
attended Exeter Cathedral School,
