Nottingham
is a city, located in the east midlands of England. Nottingham
is the county town of Nottinghamshire and has a population of more than 300,000
people.
Nottingham
is well known for being home to many famous venues including the National Ice
Centre which is the first Olympic sized ice rink in the UK and was
built in 2000. Other famous venues in Nottingham
include the National Water Sports Centre and Trent Bridge Test Cricket Ground.
The
city boasts two popular universities: The University of Nottingham and Nottingham Trent University.
Nottingham
is also well known for boasting many historical attractions including Nottingham Castle. This was built after the Norman

and houses of the city.

Once the heart of the world's lace industry, today the Lace Market is home to
bars, restaurants, tea rooms, museums and shops. Examples include The Pitcher
and Piano, housed in a converted Unitarian church and boasting many of the
original features including soaring stained glas windows. Also in the Lace
Market is Nottingham's historic Galleries of Justice Museum, based at
Nottingham's old courthouse and gaol.

in Hi-de-Hi and You Rang, M’ Lord? Other famous residents include Stuart Broad
(cricketer), Viv Anderson (footballer), and Sherrie Hewson (actress).
