Other towns include Chipping Norton and Banbury. Oxfordshire is located in the
south east of England,
bordering Warwickshire to the north and Buckinghamshire to the east.
Oxfordshire has a total area of 1006 square miles and an approximate population
of 700,000 people.
Oxford is the sixth most visited city in the UK. The University of Oxford was found in 1096. It is a
collegiate university with colleges including Christchurh, New College
and St Catherine’s (the youngest college).

is close to Woodstock,
Winston Churchill was born in the palace in 1874. Blenheim Palance and gardens
are designate a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
THe
Cotswolds hills are a 90 mile long Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The Cotswolds Way is a
long distance footpath running the entire length of the AONB. This is a popular
route with walkers from far beyond the county.
Famous
residents of Oxfordshire include actor Hugh Laurie who attended Dragon School
in Oxford.
